Ephesians 3:14-19

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19

A couple of weeks ago we had what we called a Family Sunday. We stepped out of the comfort of our usual order of service for an interactive time of prayer, games, and fellowship. Our goal was to build relationship, unity, and teamwork in the family unit and in our larger church family unit. In this day and age, the importance of the family has been devalued. The Biblical precedent of passing down wisdom and knowledge has largely been lost in our culture. We are called to step into that role and be a family unit that is supportive and a blessing to each other.

We’re all related. We all share in the same riches, grace, love and blessings and are all anchored in the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. We’re filled and continuing to be filled by the Holy Spirit with the fullness of God. We are so rich! But all of these blessings transpire in the middle of God’s family. The is where we all belong , we are all needed, and we are all valued. We are God’s keys to unlocking the Kingdom for those we serve. Praise God for His grace. As we sow into future generations, we’ll see everything of God’s kingdom released and growing.
